WYSM offers insight to the community as to the role of the police officer in the community and how both sides can work together to improve their relations.
WYSM teaches first responders skills and tools they need to use to help bridge the gap between their profession and the people they serve.

There is a violent confrontation between the police and a community member EVERY hour in our country.
This violence often stems from a lack of understanding and mistrust for the police. It is crucial that we educate our future leaders in the community about policing in order to promote positive interactions between community members and the police. Long Beach police officer, Jason Lehman, created this unique program to increase transparency in policing in an effort to eliminate these acts of violence.
Programs like WYSM help everyone in a community to have better relationships.
WYSM programs have been successfully provided to more than 45,000 community members and more than 17,000 First Responders since 2014. Our attendees have committed to knowing better and doing better.
